I have to go to work tomorrow and it’s a 50-mile commute each way. Did I mention both home and work are directly in the line of the projected path? Oh, and there’s a chance of 6 to 10 inches of total rainfall in my area over the span of the next 36 hours. Let’s just hope my !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ...

Yeah I’d see if they’d let you wait until the thing has passed. hurricanes spawn tornadoes and debris and lightning & down power lines are no joke. Plus the sky gets pitch black.

Top down, drive both ways and document the experience with a GoPro. Sell the Miata to a Silicon Valley millenial poseur for $20k with provenance of a ballsy event with footage.
Profit!

Stick it on jack stands as high as possible and call out terribly sick.
Assuming $16/hour for 8 hours (my pathetic income), the value (intrinsic or otherwise) is simply not worth risking.
I was talking to a coworker today about why I outright refuse to drive in NYC, regardless of whatever I could be driving. Since I live well outside the city, I have no true obligation to drive in the city, so I would rather walk or take Uber. One shithead is all it takes making one wrong move and it would take my car away from me. Nope. I refuse to do it. Its bad enough where I live, I dont need 10x the amount of cars around me.
Same goes for bad weather. Just not worth the risk. Sucks for work, but if youre 50 miles away, anything happening to your car means risking it now for one day could jeopardize many more days ahead. Sure, anything can happen even on a bright and sunny day, but when theres a much greater chance of something bad happening? My boss isnt going to replace my car...

I’m just about where the dot for St Pete is. We’re about to get a whooping. It’s been creeping towards us for a while.

Today is Drive Slowrunner to Work, Because SlowRunner Can Cross Water Day. Even if it doesn’t flood that bad in Lexington, the patchwork roads will fall apart and create ponds in the road.

I’m in Sarasota. We got hit pretty hard with flooding on Wednesday. Yesterday wasn’t too bad but this morning is already pretty wet.
Trying to post some pics but Kinja hates me.
Stay safe.

I’m back home, somehow, the Miata on bad tires in a monsoon was probably the dumbest thing I’ve done in a long, long, long time.
